Welcome to EG MedPrep
Hello!
My name is Emily. It’s really nice to sort of meet you through this website. When I first consult with students and flex my interview question-answering muscles, I am often met with comments like, “Can you just do my interview for me?”
While mostly I’m flattered that my ten-plus years of eating, breathing, and sleeping interview strategy has made a positive impression, my answer is always the same: “I’m going to show you how to do that.”
I believe that interviewing is a skill that can be taught and learned. From working with hundreds of applicants over the years, I have developed tools, structures, rules, and strategies that I’m so excited to share with you.
I am a writer by trade. In fact, I moonlight as a surrealist poet. After graduating from the University of Toronto’s MA program in the Field of English and Creative Writing, I felt that there was no better way to apply my talents in composition than to help students highlight their strengths in essay form. Each time a student of mine reaches a goal, secures an interview, or lands a competitive position, I have the privilege of sharing in their excitement— and I truly feel that it is a privilege to get to be a part of those acceptances year after year.
I got into this line of work after helping my now-husband prepare for his medical school interviews back in 2014. Volunteering as an interview panelist for an Ontario medical school a couple of years later allowed me to understand the ‘back end” of the process. My husband has since graduated from medical school. He is now a resident at the University of Toronto. We often work together to support students looking to take a similar path.
I know that applying to medical schools, residency, professional schools, and graduate programs can be stressful. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about any part of the process. I’m always happy to chat.
Good luck and godspeed,
Emily
